At Elixé Honey, we are all about “A Taste of Nature’s Gold” – a promise that goes back to the green hills and blooming valleys of Bulgaria, where our journey once began. We are two friends with one shared dream: to give the Netherlands a taste of honey as nature intended. Pure, unadulterated and straight from the heart of the wilderness.
Elixe Honey
A Heritage of Bees and Tradition
One of us grew up surrounded by the buzzing of bees and the smell of fresh honeycombs in a small village in Bulgaria. His grandfather, a passionate beekeeper with over 50 years of experience, taught him the trade at an early age. As a child, he helped carry the smokers, tend the hives and harvest the golden nectar. “Honey is not a product,” his grandfather always said, “it is a gift of nature. Treat it with respect.” Those words are forever etched in our hearts.
When we discovered that a lot of honey in Dutch supermarkets was mixed with sugar syrup or came from faraway countries of questionable quality, we knew what to do. It was time to bring the heritage of Bulgarian beekeeping to the Netherlands – and so Elixé Honey was born.
Why We Are Different
We don’t believe in rushing or mass production. Our honey comes from remote areas in Bulgaria, where bees can still forage freely among unsprayed flowers, wild herbs and ancient forests. Every drop is harvested by hand, carefully filtered and rigorously tested in collaboration with independent laboratories. No additives, no manipulation – only what the bees give us.
